NFL/Apple Music Drops New Kendrick Lamar "Not Like Us" Super Bowl Ad

Fans have been wondering if Kendrick Lamar will perform the Drake diss song "Not Like Us" at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. Since it was announced last September that Lamar would headline the show, interest has grown. The NFL and Apple Music promoted Lamar's performance during the NFC Championship game, playing the instrumental of the diss track while the Philadelphia Eagles faced the Washington Commanders. Fox broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt highlighted Lamar's talent, saying, "59 Halftime show, catch Kendrick Lamar at the top of his game." This promotion sparked discussions on social media, with opinions divided. Some fans doubt Lamar will include the song in his set, while others are convinced he will. An X user tweeted, "Still don’t think he’ll perform it at the Super Bowl but IMAGINE." Another chimed in, recalling a past incident involving a "sore loser" trying to censor the song. Many fans also connected Lamar's upcoming performance to Drake's ongoing lawsuit with Universal Music Group over "Not Like Us." Released during a heated rivalry between the two in Summer 2024, the track responded to Drake's "The Heart Pt. 6." In his song, Lamar makes pointed claims about Drake, which contributed to the track achieving diamond status from the RIAA. Drake has mentioned lyrics from this song numerous times, including during his recent livestream with Adin Ross.

Kendrick Lamar's Halftime Show will also feature special guest SZA. The two artists are set to begin the Grand National Tour in April. SZA collaborated with Lamar on his recent album, GNX, including popular tracks "luther" and "gloria." She also appeared in a Super Bowl commercial, celebrating by dumping a bucket of Gatorade on Lamar.
