FIFA has announced the base camp locations for all 48 teams participating in the 2026 World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. In addition to the 16 host cities, 25 other communities will host base camps, offering a broader reach of the tournament's excitement.

According to FIFA, 39 teams will be based in the United States, seven in Mexico, and two in Canada. The base camps are designed to be "home away from home" for teams, providing world-class training facilities and accommodations where players, coaches, and staff will spend significant time during the group stage.

The selection process for these Team Base Camp (TBC) Training Sites began in 2024 and was finalized after the World Cup draw in December 2025. The sites were chosen based on their proximity to the geographical zones where teams will compete in the group stage. Kansas City will host Argentina, England, the Netherlands, and Algeria at various top-tier facilities.

Communities hosting base camps include New Tecumseth in Canada; Cancun, Pachuca, and Tijuana in Mexico; and Alexandria, Austin, Boca Raton, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Columbus, Goleta, Greenbrier, Greensboro, Irvine, Mesa, Nashville, Palm Beach Gardens, Portland, Renton, San Diego, Sandy, Santa Barbara, Spokane, Tampa, and Winston-Salem in the United States.

FIFA's Chief Operating Officer, Heimo Schirgi, emphasized the importance of these camps, stating they are integral to the World Cup experience, allowing more communities and fans to engage with the tournament. The presence of teams in these areas is expected to generate significant socioeconomic benefits.

The 2026 World Cup marks a historic expansion, with 48 teams participating, making it the largest tournament in FIFA history. The tournament will feature 104 matches across North America, with fans having the opportunity to witness some of the world's best players in action both on and off the field.
