More details about the late Celeste Rivas and the vehicle she was found in have emerged as the investigation into her death continues.
On Thursday evening, September 26, private investigator Steve Fischer shared new images of the black 2023 Tesla Model X that's registered to singer d4vd. The photos were taken before the car was towed from a Hollywood Hills neighborhood to an impound lot. Fischer also published a copy of the original complaint that was made on August 26, which is nearly two weeks before police discovered the teen's body. The caller didn't indicate an odor at the time, but they did point out a large dent in the back of the car.
Police first investigated the abandoned car a day after someone complained about it. The vehicle was not reported stolen; however, it could've been there longer based on the dirt that accumulated on the exterior. An officer cited the car on August 27 and again on September 3 before it was towed to the impound lot on September 5. An employee at the lot called the police about a deadly stench coming from the car on September 8.
The car was parked near the home that d4vd's manager, Josh Marshall, was renting. Investigators confirmed that d4vd stayed at the home before they executed a search warrant earlier this month. They left with a laptop computer and other items in bags. They also searched the house for traces of blood using luminol. D4vd is cooperating with police, but no charges have been filed and a suspect has not been named.
D4vd and Rivas have been connected in several ways, especially after the 15-year-old girl's mother claimed her daughter dated a guy named David. The singer, born David Anthony Burke, was reportedly spotted in her hometown, and they have the same tattoo on their right index finger. Rivas' family and acquaintances have said she ran away from her home in Lake Elsinore, Calif., twice before she disappeared. When she first ran away in January 2024, she was found in Hollywood and was brought back home by police.
TMZ recently published video footage of Rivas walking in her neighborhood on March 19, 2024, which is a couple of weeks before her family reported her missing. In the clip, you can see her in a black hoodie and white pants as she walks, then jogs down the street from her family's home. The footage was captured by the owner of Dellago Spirits, Elie Naddaf, who provided the video to Rivas' family during their search. The girl's sister confirmed it was Celeste.
