Cardi B addressed her fans after a jury cleared her of all charges in her alleged assault case.

On Tuesday, September 2, the jury unanimously ruled that Bardi is not liable for assault and battery of former security guard Emani Ellis and will not have to pay damages. Ellis accused the "Outside" rapper of allegedly assaulting her and spitting on her in front of a doctor's office following her appointment in 2018. She claimed Cardi, who was about four months pregnant with her first child at the time, used racial slurs and slashed her face with her nail during her attempt to fight her.

"I swear to God, I will say it on my deathbed. I did not touch that woman," Cardi B said outside the courthouse after the verdict. "I did not touch that girl. I didn't lay my hands on that girl. With that being said, this time around, I'm going to be nice. The next person to try to do a frivolous lawsuit against me I'm going to countersue and I'm going to make you pay."

Ellis filed a civil lawsuit against Cardi B for $24 million in 2020, but the case finally went to trial last month. Ellis took the stand and told the jury her side of the story, in which she claimed Cardi B attempted to punch her and sliced her face with a long nail. She claimed Cardi made fun of her occupation, threatened to get her fired, and spat on her.

Cardi also testified during the trial and denied Ellis' version of the incident. She accused Ellis of trying to record her while she left the office. She said she asked Ellis to stop, but she refused. Although she admitted that they got into a verbal argument, Cardi was adamant that she didn't touch Ellis.

It took the jury less than an hour to reach their verdict. Ellis said she wasn't mad about the jury's decision, but her lawyers plan to file an appeal. She also said she was happy that she got her day in court.
