Fat Joe made sure students in New York City had everything they needed before they headed back to school

On Sunday, August 31, the veteran rapper and host of Joe & Jada pulled up at Paint 4 Peace Children’s Village in Harlem to give away backpacks and school supplies to hundreds of kids. The community center's inaugural back-to-school drive, powered by Dynasty Commodities, helped provide notebooks, pencils, and more to students aged 6 to 16. Joe joined Dynasty Commodities co-founder Rich Jospitre and the rest of the team to give away the school supplies for several hours.

The kids and their families had a chance to meet with Don Cartagena. In footage that was shared to Dynasty Commodities' Instagram account, you can see the children thank Joe and hug him as they walk out with their backpacks. Fat Joe and the team provided over 500 students with backpacks and supplies for the upcoming school year.

Fat Joe is the latest artist to join in on the efforts to help kids before school begins. Over the summer, Lil Baby and his nonprofit The Jones Project hosted their fifth annual Back to School Fest. Baby and his group helped provide school supplies to over 4,000 students and families in Atlanta’s West End. They gave away free school supplies, haircuts, uniforms, shoes, wellness kits, exclusive Fanatics-branded gear and more.
