Some of the best burgers can be found in local eateries tucked away from the hustle and bustle of packed city streets inside hidden hotspots.
Cheapism compiled a list of the "best hole-in-the-wall burger joints" across the U.S., the small but mighty eateries that might not be as "glamorous" as the highly-touted chains and popular establishments but that still pack a major punch with a bite you'll be thinking about for many meals to come.
According to the site, the top spot in all of Ohio is Bob's Hamburg. The burgers at this Akron restaurant, which has been cooking up patties for nearly a century, are packed with flavor. Bob's Hamburg, which has a 4.4 star rating on Google and more than 1,000 reviews, is located at 1351 East Avenue. There are a few other locations around the city as well.
Here's what Cheapism had to say about this beloved hidden gem:
"Akron's first hamburger joint is still going strong. Bob's Hamburg is vintage and a little shabby, but what do you expect from a diner that's been around since 1931? Burgers are thick and cooled on a well-worn griddle until nice and browned, then served with Bob's special sauce. Wash your burger down with a frosted glass of Bob's own root beer."
