Julio Foolio has passed away after he was fatally shot while celebrating his birthday in Florida.

According to a report News4Jax published on Sunday, June 23, the Jacksonville native's lawyer Lewis Fusco confirmed Foolio, born Charles Jones, was in Tampa to celebrate his 26th birthday. Jones originally booked an Airbnb for a pool party but was booted from the property after the event attracted too many people. The Final Destination rapper reserved a room at a Holiday Inn and brought the party to the hotel. Fusco said Jones was "ambushed" in the hotel's parking lot just before 5 a.m.

“While these events involving our client, Mr. Charles Jones, have been disclosed by law enforcement, we are unable to provide further comments at this time until additional details become public record," Fusco said in a statement. "We kindly request that the privacy of Mr. Jones and his family be respected during this difficult time.”

In a press release, police said three other people were injured in the shooting and were rushed to the hospital. They were reportedly listed in stable condition. Before his birthday party, Jones had been shot twice in the past three years. He survived and even made music videos while he recovered.

Jones began releasing music under the stage name "Julio Foolio" nearly a decade ago. Throughout his rap career, Foolio worked with plenty of well-known acts like Zaytoven, Fredo Bang, G Herbo, Blueface, and more. Foolio dropped two albums within the past year including Living Legend and Resurrection.

As of this report, police are still investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made.

Rest in peace, Foolio.
