Beyonce's Father To Premiere A Destiny's Child Musical Next Year

2000 Billboard Music Awards

Beyonce's father, Mathew Knowles, says he's bringing a Destiny's Child play to Broadway.

According to TMZ, Mathew is planning on producing a stage play with director Je'Caryous Johnson, supposedly titled Survivor: The Destiny's Child Musical, set to open in Houston, Texas, next year, with future sights set on London's West End, Broadway, as well as a possible world tour.

The production, based on the best-selling girl group's best-known members Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams, will be narrated through the viewpoint of Mathew, who managed the group since their inception in the '90s. As far as what to expect, Survivor will not only offer a transparent look at Destiny's Child's beginnings and rise to superstar status, but also bring the jams and choreography.

Additionally, the production will also concentrate on Mathew's own "pioneering climb into the music industry." Though, per the celebrity gossip outlet, the talent manager insists the big message of the project is that "building a dream takes sacrifice ... even at the cost of everything and everyone you love."

These sacrifices may or may allude to Destiny's Child's infamously rocky launch to fame, having lost a string of members in their tenure. You can recall, the group began in 1997 as a four-piece comprising Beyonce, Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett.

Following controversies of Mathew's alleged favoritism toward Rowland and Beyonce, Roberson and Luckett were ultimately replaced with Williams and Farrah Franklin in 2000. However, Destiny's Child became a trio after Franklin left the group after just five months.
