Tamar Braxton's Docuseries Postponed Following Her Hospitalization

WE TV has made the call to push back Tamar Braxton's new docuseries series, Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life!

On Tuesday (July 28), it was announced that the upcoming series will debut on September 10 instead of its scheduled Thursday premiere date. The big decision comes after the star was found unresponsive for a potential overdose by her boyfriend, David Adefeso, on July 16. She was transported to a nearby hospital. In a statement for WE TV, a representative said that the network wants to prioritize Braxton's health above all. "Tamar Braxton has been an incredibly important member of the WE tv family for more than a decade, and our first concern is for her recovery and well-being," the rep told TheWrap. "Given the current situation, we are postponing the premiere of Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life! until September 10."

Elsewhere in the statement, the rep said that part of the decision fell on their mission to showcase the essence of their star, or in the rep's words, "a dynamic woman juggling the demands of being a single mother, a new relationship and her career." "We know, when the time is right, Tamar’s fans will relate to seeing this honest portrait of her life, but – at this moment – we are joining with her fans and sending strength and healing in the hope that she is getting the support and help she needs at this difficult time," the statement concluded.

Days after the incident, the Braxton Family Values reality star was transported to a "new hospital specializing in mental health care" and is said to be working with professionals on her road to recovery. "Tamar is not out of the woods by any means. Doctors are still keeping a very close eye on her for her safety," an insider recently revealed to E! News. "Tamar has been committed to working on her mental health for some time, but she experienced some setbacks during the last year, finding quarantine to be particularly difficult."
