Rosalia & J Balvin's 'Con Altura' Joins The Billion Views Club On YouTube

Rosalía and J Balvin's "Con Altura" featuring producer El Guincho is the banger that just keeps giving.

After its release in late March, the Director X-helmed video, which has remained on the Global YouTube Top Music Videos chart for 28 weeks, has surpassed the one billion views mark on the video platform. It is No. 3 on YouTube’s Top Music Videos tally, making it the most successful video by a female artist in 2019. Meanwhile, J Balvin has surpassed Justin Bieber and now ties Ozuna atop the YouTube Billion Views Club with seven clips as a lead, featured artist or collaborator.

In late August, the flashy music video won Best Choreography and Best Latin at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, making her the first Spanish winning-artist in VMA history.

In an interview with The New York Times, the breakout superstar admitted that she went into the song's session wanting a track that was inspired by old school reggaeton. "I remember that I said that I wanted to do a song that had this classic reggaeton vibe like Daddy Yankee," she recalled. "It feels like they are rapping, but it's not rapping because it has melody, you know?"
